I've been feeling rather guilty not contributing to this blog, so I'm finally sharing something with you guys as a preparation for Christmas!
I received a Christmas card from a retail store today, offering their wishes for the holidays as well as incentives to give them my money this season. As I was replacing the card back in its pink envelope, I noticed how the sender made a total error on the address and getting only three things right; my name, Singapore and my postal code. Well I apparently live on "Condo Hill" now and its a helluva name for the many hills we have in Singapore! So it struck me that my postman really knows his 'clients' particulars well and rescued a potential undelivered mail, which by the way has no unit number, and turned it into my first commercial Christmas card this year. I guess it really pays being nice to the postman, by acknowledging him every time i see him, sometimes even striking a casual conversation. He's like the Super Postman flying in with a blue cape whenever undelivered mails call for a hero. On an interesting note too, this postman represented the Republic last SEA games in cue sports - i saw his photo on the papers haha!
I attended evening mass on Sunday and I do have to admit that some Sunday sermons can be really dull and insipid, leaving my mind to stray like those magical times in chinese class under my warm and fuzzy jacket. But for all those dull ones, there are always many highly inspirational and motivating ones. Before you go wondering whether I'll be preaching to you all, I assure you that I won't be doing so now and you might find it meaningful as I have found it to be. This week, my parish priest spoke about the Sunday's bible text and quoted from it the things we can do to prepare for a truly joyful Christmas.
1. Share this joy of Christmas to someone whom otherwise would not experience that warmth and togetherness and in the way you see it to be.
2. Avoid any injustices.
3. Avoid oppression and judgment.
Perhaps this Christmas, it will truly be a special one for us all. I've not been rather enthusiastic about the beginning of the season, but now I think I've found the reason and remedy to that.
Hopefully we could all have a nice dinner together before Christmas and resuming the laughter-filled moments. HAHA I'm looking towards Winfred now...anyone else looking too?

Superb 21st Celebration
This will follow a chronological order because that is really how I remember this day:
Well, it started off with Aston posting his well wishes 1 day earlier but that's because he foresaw that he would be realy busy on this day so he said an advanced wished is better than a belated one. Then came hs, who also posted a day earlier, but he didn't seem to have any reason for the early post, so after much confirmation, he calculated the wrong time difference. But I love you both still and thanks so much.
Then next was the call at 9.30pm the day before... I was just lazing on my bed when the phone rang and I must say I was really shocked to see the name on the id caller. VAL! Wow, international call because it was already midnight over there. Thank you val for the call because it was just very sweet of you...
Focusing on my maths after that, my doorbell rang at the stroke of midnight. I was just wondering to myself, hmmm... Who could that be? Everybody is home already if I'm not wrong...? Oh and I was left with one last question on my maths problems before I was actually heading to bed. Rang once, rang twice, ARGH, went to the door... Look through the peephole, it was covered. GASP! Who could it be? Loansharks? Pighead on my door? "Who is it?" - No reply. "Who is it?" - No reply! Then I heard the laughters and to my amazement, ZHIXIAN ANDREU ENGSWEN & IVAN!!! A lighted cake and supper was in stored for me and I was really taken aback. Everybody came in, sang the song, and we started feasting... Woo, chocolate cake, tang yuan, hokkien mee, chicken wings and oyster omelette. Sweet... Unforgettable way to get the day going!
I soon found myself in dreamland shortly after only to find my phone ring once again. This time at 9.30am when I was still sleeping... ARGH, WHO IS THAT?!?!? It was none other than DAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... That sure woke me up from my deep slumber. However if I'm not wrong, I was still rather groggy during our conversation, but nonetheless can't wait for dae to come back and have a 3-in-1 celebration together...
Next I proceeded on to school where it was time for another fun-filled celebration with the SMU neanderthals... Thanks to baba for the planning and surprise! Oreo cheesecake, pizza, doughnuts and much more. Not forgetting, the birks that qianhui was so sneaky about. I feel really bad because the birks ain't exactly the cheapest things around. But of course, I got my fair share of beating with my legs spread wideee open and then grinded against one hell of a pillar. OUCH
On to dinner with the LEGENDS... Alvin, Andreu, Eng Swen, Han Yuan, Ivan, Kelly, Zhixian(alphabetical order). We proceeded on to Swiss Culture, where we had great swiss food and a hard time figuring out and maximizing the "buy 3 get 1 free" main course deal. HEY what do you expect? Some of the top CSBs were there, we had to get our money's worth. I'm quite sure the woman was rather peeved at our actions and relentless questions to get the best deal available. Soon, the juniors joined us, Chong Zhi, Daniel, Farhan, Keefe, Kuanfu and Yirui. But medicine boys will always be medicine boys, for their inability to calculate the utility maximization point. Their late arrival made the waitress go through another round of barraging questions and andreu ended up eating his porkribs rather than his pork sausage... I'm so sorry ps!
Well, we headed over to Macs in the end just to end the night off with some chillax desserts and drinks. Reminiscing about the good old days is something that we will never get tired of. Sometimes when we are all caught up in the hustles and bustles of daily life, especially when stress levels reach an all-time high, it sure is heart-warming to spend one good birthday with the friends and family you love. This is especially so in my case. Of course because my sis is overseas, so I shall await her return before my family goes out for a feast.
Thank you everybody for all your loves because I love you all more...

Reunion with 美雪阿姨和家人 !!!
Last night was a really enjoyable night for me. Thank you guys =)
As the exams are drawing near for all of us, (and for Andreu - drawing near to the end), I think that a small dinner for us helped to relieve stress and bring back some fun and joy, reliving some of the moments we had in Taiwan as well.
Dinner was expensive and I dare to say that not everyone had their fill, right? In comparison, perhaps the money could have been spent in Taiwan for 3 tables full of 64 dishes. There would probably be repeated dishes already. haha. i duno. Nonetheless, thanks guys, hope u all had fun =)
She sends her regards and her family thanks everyone for taking time out for dinner. If we had a chance to travel to Taiwan together sometime again, it would be really great.
But for now, let's focus on our papers and get it over and done with!
November is about 1/3 done. Somebody's birthday coming too eh? Hmmm. Eng Swen will be back on Nov 16 anyway - but maybe he's going for overseas holiday. Not sure yet. But a few more weeks to endure and the holidays will be here already! Hang in there!!
All the best to everyone! Take care
P.S. Win - its about time the tagboard comes up. hmmmmmmm....

A Moment to Share
The sunrise at Alishan at about 4 to 5 am in the morning is truly unforgettable. I was scrolling through my photos when I saw all our photos for our holiday trip to Taiwan.
It was surely one of the best I have ever had so far. The company was awesome; though it could have been better if someone had not had chicken pox or the teacher decided to endure the pain and travel on crutches.
I miss those times. When's our next trip?
Needless to say, it just made me think of many things, adding to all that I already had on my mind.
...
Despite all the troubles and worries from school work, relationship and other commitments, everyone finds time for comfort and relaxation at times. Within our own boundaries, we seek something that is satisfactory to us.
I know the journey has been long and tiring. But the very fact that friends and families are always there to love and care for you; it just makes the journey even more worthwhile.
Thank you everyone. As we draw near to the end of 2009, let's pull through successfully, gracefully, proudly, comfortably. Wish everyone all the best!!

The Battlefield
Well well well... In a week or two, we will be having the much anticipated softball IVP organised by SP. This year's trophy seeks to be a tightly contested and highly coveted reward for the victor. Stakes are high and tensions are running wild. Blood will be spilt with bitter rivalry lurking amongst the players who have shared tears and sweat together over the past 9 years, only to find themselves on opposing sides this time around. Never once did the thought of facing off against each other cross our minds. However, it seems as though this bloodbath is inevitably inevitable. All we can be assured of is that our respect for each other will not allow any of us to go easy and that only the highest quality of play will be executed. "To the victor goes the spoils" and we pray that the team with the moley will emerge victorious.

Mid Term Break = Study Week
Winfred! Quickly get ppl like alvin, andreu, melcolm to join!
Anyway, I think he was too strong to cry at the airport, perhaps - with the company he had beside him, it was easier for him to feel that at least there's still someone flying there with him. Well, he knows we're there for him.
Mid term break is coming up. Next week for u boys at pulau ntu and the following week for us city boys. Burger is also busy preparing his projects. Well anyway, I think that the mid term break is more like a big chance for us to catch up on our studies. So many projects to do but so little time.
I feel so sian. What say you guys?

So now, everybody has embarked on that journey to a new beginning. In our terms, we call it "a new world". What is in stored for you, for me, for all of us? I am sure we will find out soon enough. I guess the only disappointment for that final flight last sunday, 20th Sept 09, was that a particular someone didn't shed any drop of tears. It was supposed to be "you cry, i cry". Anyway, here's wishing everyone the very best in our future.
Flick on peeps.
